FCI Forrest City Low is a low-security federal prison for male inmates in eastern Arkansas, part of the Forrest City Federal Correctional Complex situated between Little Rock and Memphis along Interstate 40. It opened in April 1997, with a minimum-security satellite camp built on the same grounds that same year to house lower-classification offenders separately from the main population. For visiting family, the facility's distance from any sizable city or airport is usually the biggest practical hurdle, since Forrest City itself is a small town in a largely agricultural part of the state.
