📌 How Posting Works: Boards, Threads & Reactions

admin 18 hours, 57 minutes ago

The forum is organized in three layers: Category → Board → Thread, same as most forums you've probably used.

Finding a place to post

  • General Support has boards for common topics (first-timer help, long-distance relationships, kids and visiting).
  • Facility Discussions has one board per facility -- 155 of them. Each one already has a pinned "About [Facility]" thread with background on that specific place.

Starting a thread vs. replying

If nobody's asked your question yet, start a new thread on the relevant board. If a thread already exists, reply inside it instead -- keeps things easy to follow for everyone else searching the same topic later.

Formatting

Posts support a simple form of Markdown:
- **bold** and *italic*
- A blank line between paragraphs
- - item for a bullet list
- A link just works if you paste the full URL

Reactions

Every post has a Helpful and Support reaction. Use them instead of a "thanks, same here" reply when that's really all you want to say -- keeps threads readable.

Editing and reporting

You can edit your own posts after posting. If you see something that shouldn't be there -- spam, harassment, someone's real personal info -- use the Report option on that post rather than replying to it. A moderator reviews every report.
