FCI Englewood is a low-security federal prison for male inmates in Jefferson County, Colorado, near the town of Littleton, with an adjacent minimum-security satellite camp that opened in 1990. Sources differ somewhat on exactly when the original site dates to, but the current institution became operational in 1988. It has housed a number of well-known inmates over the years, including a former state governor whose sentence was later commuted, a former fast-food company spokesperson, and a former corporate executive convicted of fraud — the kind of mix typical of a facility that draws inmates from across the country.
